- For long term ageing of nickel based superalloys ranging from 25 - 800mm in length
- Process is carried out at temperatures between 700°C and 1000°C depending on size & specification of the component
- The furnaces are heated by heavy-gauge wire spiral elements located in the roof and below the hearth
- Temperature uniformity within the chamber is better than ± 10°C
- Specially designed retort constructed from 4mm thick inconel, which is 490mm (w) x 325mm (h) and 890mm (d)
- A sand seal provides a gas-tight fit between the base and the lid
- Atmosphere inlet/outlet pipes protrude from the base & through an aperture in the furnace door for connection to the inert gas supply
- The retort is lifted in/out of the furnace by a charging machine
- Maximum power rating 36kW
- Accurate temperature control is provided by a Eurotherm 2416 programmer with one programme and eight sgements
